A Virtual Immersive Literary Supperclub

We hosted our first virtual author event on 28th May, connecting readers in London, Barcelona, Nairobi and the US. Set in Beijing and Tibet, An Yu's dreamlike debut is the story of a young widow’s journey to self-discovery in the wake of her husband’s death. Guests designed tablescapes inspired by the novel, notably Maria Castellanos, whose set featured a profusion of tulips and Chinese tableware. An Yu answered questions on the novel's themes – from relationships, grief and isolation to art, creativity and, of course,  food. Guests cooked their own Shanghai-style braised pork afterwards.
